In this book we will address the landscape project as a disciplinary field located at the confluence of three thematic axes or sources of mea-ning: the formal axis, the environmental axis, and the socio-functional axis. The exploration of these three axes of the landscape project will be conducted from a perspective linked to architecture, urbanism, and ecology, respectively. For each of these fields, the book collects a wide selection of examples of relevant works, combining international re-ferences with others of more local nature and deliberately seeking a diversity of contexts and scales. The perspective adopted, and the contents that are presented based on it, make this book the perfect complement to the book Landscape architecture: Form and matter, also published by the author at Edito-rial UPV. Together, the two books form a coherent body of contents in landscape architecture, which includes the basic conceptual materials, and aspects of formal definition and constructive materialisation. In this way, a general body of teaching resources is configured, both for an approach to the landscape from architecture studies and as a support for a deeper and more comprehensive study through postgraduate or master courses.

Pérez Igualada, Javier Javier Pérez Igualada es doctor arquitecto y profesor del Departamento de Urbanismo de la Universitat Politécnica de València, habiendo impartido docencia desde 1988, en la Escuela de Arquitectura y en diversos cursos de posgrado y máster. Ha publicado los libros Arquitectura para el transporte (2010), Arquitecturas comparadas (2007), Elementos del proyecto urbano (2007) y Manzanas, bloques y casas. Formas construidas y formas del suelo en la ciudad contemporánea (2005), así como artículos en diversas revistas de investigación. Entre su obra profesional como arquitecto pueden destacarse las estaciones y diseño urbano para varias líneas de la red de metro y tranvía de Valencia, el Centro de Desarrollo Turístico de Valencia, el Edificio Nexus de la UPV, el Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria en Alcasser, el Mercado Municipal de Paiporta, el Parque Pedro Goitia en Alicante y el Parque de Cantagallet en Alcoy. Actualmente es miembro del consejo editorial de la revista VLC arquitectura, subdirector de la Escuela de Arquitectura de Valencia y director académico del Máster de Arquitectura Avanzada, Urbanismo, Paisaje y Diseño de la UPV. web: jpiarquitectura.blogspot.com.es
